KIDS' SAFETY TIPS  FROM A TO Z!

Transmissible Animal Diseases (Zoonoses)

Transmissible animal diseases (also called zoonoses) can be spread from animals to humans. These diseases may be fatal if they are not diagnosed in time. Dogs, cats, rodents, birds, mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks are among the most common infected animals because they are carriers of infectious bacteria and microbes. The diseases they transmit may be deadly if they are not properly taken care of by an immediate visit to the doctor.

Did you Know?
Worldwide (but particularly in Africa and in tropical areas), each year, nearly 800 million people are infected by malaria, 2 million of whom die. (According to the World Health Organization, a child dies every thirty seconds.)

What to Tell Children (excerpt)

Cover your skin (long sleeves and garments).
