What to Tell Children (excerpt)
• Alert the school staff if you notice any suspicious, unusual, and/or dangerous behavior in a classmate (threats, assault, harassment, mental confusion, agitation, possession of a firearm, etc.).
• Do not consider suicide as a challenge to show off to classmates or use it as a threat to settle a conflict with parents.
• Never leave someone who expresses the desire to kill himself alone.
